Assistant Accountant - Global Brand

Support finance operations for a global luxury brand

The Client 

Our client is a fashion retailer with global operations and a well-known brand. Their Australian office is currently entering into their busy period and are seeking a talented Assistant Accountant to support them through their year-end. No working from home is available, but offices are conveniently located in the CBD close to a range of public transport links.

The Role 

As the Assistant Accountant you will be working closely with a team of 6 across both the Sydney Office and the Regional APAC office, it is a full function opportunity, and you will be responsible for:

• Mid-volume accounts payable processing
• Generating invoices and receipts
• Bank reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Journal preparation and posting (accruals, prepayments)
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Assisting with P&L preparation

Your Background 

To be considered for this Assistant Accountant position, you will have the following skills and attributes:

• Available immediately
• 2-3+ years’ experience in similar roles
• Strong reconciliations experience
• Degree qualified and/or working towards CA/CPA
• Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables)
• Open to being hands-on across transactional and month-end
• SAP experience will be highly regarded
• Experience within retail/fashion or other products-based environments is highly regarded
