As a member of the finance team, you get insight and exposure to some of Sydney’s key infrastructure projects. This means no two months are the same and there is continual learning and change!

There is plenty of room for training and development from the CFO who is CA qualified. There is also room for this role to progress to Accountant very quickly.

The Role

The Assistant Accountant role supports the CFO with:

• Manage the monthly contract progress claims submissions and retentions plus all other ad-hoc invoicing 
• Weekly cash flow monitoring and processing of payments to the bank and GL
• Managing the bank and inter-company transactions and reconciliations
• Support the month-end process through the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts such as Fixed Assets and employee liabilities and processing journals

Your Background

We are looking for candidates who have some relatable industry experience. This could be in engineering, construction, design, or similar.

You will also:

• Have excellent communication skills and be able to present information to operational stakeholders in a meaningful way
• Ideally are degree qualified as a minimum but if you have strong industry experience this is not essential
• Have experience in project accounting on your resume, WIP, claims, AR management related tasks
• Are currently an Assistant Accountant level or similar
