The Company

Our client is a large global banking group with over 1000 branches worldwide that aims to hold a strategic international presence as a major player in corporate and investment banking. They believe in a sustainable future and fostering development in favour of the younger generations. Join this finance team in a hands-on Assistant Accountant position paying a very competitive salary, based in CBD. 

The Role 

As an Assistant Accountant, your role will be broad and see you involved and exposed to an appealing range of duties. This will include: 

• Performing and assisting with month-end closing tasks
• Assisting with regulatory tax returns for APRA and ATO
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports
• Take charge of daily GL
• Other Ad hoc tasks

Your Background

To be considered for this position, you will ideally meet the majority of the following criteria:

• Degree qualified and has plans or has started further CPA or CA qualifications
• At least 2 years of accounting experience from a commercial or chartered accounting environment 
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively liaise and partner with multiple stakeholders 
• Confident in a team-based collaborative environment
• Prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with room to grow
