Accounting Manager - Pharmaceutical

The Company

Our client is a well-established global business operating across both the skincare and pharmaceutical sectors. With a long-standing international presence and a strong footprint in the Australian market, the business is known for delivering high-quality health and wellness products through both consumer and prescription.

You will be working closely with the Finance Director and be a part of a team that prides itself on being collaborative, hands-on, and approachable. You will also enjoy a hybrid working environment with 2 days working from home!

The Role

This newly created role is due to a team restructure and offers the opportunity to take ownership of core accounting functions. Reporting to the FD, the Accounting Manager will have the following responsibilities:

• Oversee and deliver the month-end close process and associated reporting
• Prepare statutory accounts and manage the external audit process
• Handle tax compliance with the support of external advisors
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy and control
• Lead and develop two direct reports
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function

Your Background

To be considered for this Accounting Manager role, you must fulfil most of the following criteria:

• Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or ACCA) 
• Prior ownership of month-end reporting, tax (i.e. FBT, GST, and annual income tax) and managing the audit process (clearly stated on your resume)
• Have been involved in process improvement initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with all levels of the business
• Product-based industry experience (Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, Wholesale, Logistics, etc.) OR Audit trained, having moved into commercial and after your next challenge
