The Company

Our client is a boutique accounting firm based in Five Dock, proudly servicing a loyal base of individuals, small businesses, and large private clients since the 1970s. Built entirely on trust and reputation, this is a firm that values people and relationships over marketing or flash. The culture is warm, old-school, and collaborative—staff turnover is low, and many clients have been with them for decades.

They are now looking to hire a new Accountant as a valued long-standing team member transitions into retirement after 21 years.

The Role

In this role, you’ll work alongside the founder and another Accountant to manage a portfolio of long-term clients. Duties will include:

• Preparation of tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies
• SMSF audit preparation and compliance
• BAS and IAS lodgement
• Liaising directly with clients to gather info, provide advice, and maintain strong relationships
• Light bookkeeping and payroll duties for smaller clients
• Supporting the broader team where needed to maintain continuity

Your Background

To be considered for this Accountant role, you must possess most of the following attributes:

• 5+ years’ experience in a small public practice firm
• Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of Australian tax
• SMSF experience will be highly regarded
• Great attention to detail and willingness to learn
