The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, and a key colleague to Human Resources and Remuneration Manager this role is responsible for the end-to-end payroll.

More specifically in the role you will be:

  • Preparing, calculating and processing payment of payroll for permanent fulltime, part-time and fixed term contract team members

  • Preparing, calculating and processing remuneration payments to non-executive Board members

  • Calculating terminations payment, redundancy and any other end of employment entitlement

  • Administering salary packaging and fringe benefits to employees through Remunerator and other providers

  • Reviewing the payroll each fortnight and/or month with the Manager, Finance and Head of Financial Management Operations and highlight any payment error or adjustment to be made

  • Completing the month end process and some of the associated reporting (e.g. LSL, annual leave reports)

  • Completing the year-end process including the implementation of salary increases both award and contract, and the processing of any incentive payments

  • Reconciling on a monthly basis all general ledger accounts relating to package deductions, and ensure that these accounts are in order and free of errors at the end of the month

Your Background

To make this role a success, you will need to be up for the challenge in taking ownership of a standalone role coupled with:

  • A significant background in hands-on Payroll Management including experience with the General Ledger, journal posting, reconciliations and reporting.

  • Working understanding of the various State awards

  • Ideally you would also come out of a NFP background with a strong mission foundation

  • FinanceOne or TechOne exposure would be highly regarded.
