As one of Australia’s premium food producers, our client supplies to both the hospitality industry, the home cooking scene and to International consumers. They are Australian-born and bred and have been around for 30 years. With a commitment to only using regional and seasonal products, they have built a reputation universally for their quality and strong brand presence.
Due to a maternity leave absence, our client is looking for someone to take over their well-oiled finance team for 15 months. Initially, you will work from the office, however, once you are on top of your responsibilities, there will be a level of flexibility to work from home depending on the demands of the business.
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will:
Manage a team of 4 staff
Manage the annual and quarterly planning process including direct responsibility for budgeting and forecasting
Manage accurate & timely month-end close cut off
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly journals – Rebate calculations, Accruals, Provisions, Tax, Payroll etc.
Manage the fixed asset register ensuring timely closure of completed projects
Control annual statutory audit process and ensure timely and accurate compliance
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and manage external audit
Manage annual Tax Return and Fringe benefits process liaising with Tax Service providers
Manage R&D tax return with external support provider and internal parties; provide financial information; remit to ATO through tax consultant
Working capital management, including debtors, creditors and cash flow management
To be considered for this role, our client is particularly interested in candidates that:
Are happy and enjoy being hands-on (big tick!)
Ideally have had experience in the Food or Manufacturing industry
Have led a finance team in a Finance Manager or Controller capacity
Are CA / CPA (or equivalent)
Are driven, have a sense of fun, and can really get stuck in
