The Company

Our client is a well-known financial services business with a global presence. Locally they are a medium sized organisation with a finance team of six people.

Led by a friendly and charismatic Head of Finance, the team is welcoming, collaborative and talented. Already in 2021, they have driven through numerous process improvement initiatives and continuously strive to find smarter ways to get things done. They have embraced the working from home model (3 days per week) whilst keeping their focus on ensuring a collaborative team culture.

Based in the heart of Sydney’s CBD in modern offices, they are currently on the lookout for a talented and hands-on Finance Manager that wants to work in a fast-paced environment on an initial 12 month contract.

The Role

Your role as Finance Manager - Special Projects will see you play a major part in three key projects whilst working in a cooperative manner with the rest of the accounting team. Key duties will include, working with a talented Financial Controller to:

  • Provide support to complete a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance project by March 2022. This will include, project management for the finance business processes, documentation writing, and assisting the team to complete SOX control work papers, remediation, implementation of new processes, systems, testing, audit, etc.

  • Project lead the implementation of systems, processes and other administrative changes for an entity in SE Asia

  • Manage the accounting, tax, internal and external reporting for the aforementioned entity

  • Ad-hoc tasks / projects / analysis when required

Your Background

In order to be considered for this Finance Manager – Special Projects role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Prior experience working for a Sarbanes-Oxley regulated business

  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)

  • Solid all-round accounting experience coupled with significant involvement in projects previously

  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and be excited to take on a broad project flavoured role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with proven interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
