The Role

Your role as a Finance Manager will see you taking responsibility for a range of financial accounting tasks as well as involvement with driving fascinating value-add project work. More specifically you will be responsible for the:

  • Team management and mentorship of three staff

  • Preparation of the half and full year Financial Statements

  • Investigation of accounting and reporting issues and preparation of accounting files

  • Liaison and responsibility for both internal and external audit

  • Month-end financial accounting procedures

  • Preparation and review of GL reconciliations

  • Support tax compliance including payroll tax, GST, FBT and income tax

  • Capital expenditure monitoring and liaison with other departments

  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reporting pack

This role is a 12 month contract and will provide exposure across all areas of Financial Accounting whilst giving you the opportunity to liaise with senior level executives across the business. As the Finance Manager, you will have the chance to be involved in a range of interesting projects including the implementation of IFRS 17, the integration of a newly acquired business and process improvement initiatives, adding yet another dimension to this attractive role.

Your Background

To be considered for this Finance Manager role, you should possess strong technical financial knowledge and relevant industry qualifications (e.g. CA/CPA). Ideally you will also have:

  • Insurance industry OR Financial Services experience

  • Team management experience

  • Technical accounting expertise, particularly in relation to IFRS

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
