The Role

Your role as Commercial Manager will offer appealing variety and responsibility including strategic involvement, business partnering and financial management. Working closely to the SLT you will supervise a direct team of 4.

You will play a lead business partnering role driving performance working primarily with sales and marketing. Your role will specifically be involved (but not limited) in the following:

  • Contributing towards the formulation of strategy and operational objectives to drive performance across finance, sales, marketing, and supply chain

  • Partner with core stakeholders on budgets

  • Mentor and develop your team

  • Sales reporting, analysis and forecasting

  • Provide financial and commercial advice across the Sales & Marketing teams

  • Identification of trends and key business drivers, and maximisation of customer pricing (including trading terms, trade spend and product and freight costs)

  • Supporting new product development investment proposals through to launch

  • Oversee smooth running of the day to day accounting function whilst supporting Group Finance requirements for reporting and preparation of statutory accounts, managing audit requirements and that internal controls are in place and operating effectively

  • Continuous drive to implement best practices to track inventory management from supplier to customer

  • Ongoing drive to enhance internal processes and remove inefficiencies

  • Developing the Annual Operating Plan in conjunction with business partners

Your Background

To be considered for this Commercial Manager role you will meet the following criteria:

  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)

  • Have a strong broad accounting background incorporating significant budgeting, forecasting and analysis knowhow

  • MUST have worked in a relatable inventory based business – e.g. FMCG, consumer durables etc. in a commercial and/or business partnering flavoured capacity

  • Proven prior staff management experience

  • Confidence and well-developed interpersonal skills to enable you to network and liaise effectively with stakeholders across the business top to bottom

  • Excellent business acumen and an analytical mind

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
